Art/Animation - The art is good, consider the manga itself was written and drawn by Daisuke Higuchi, known for his sports-type shonen manga. The animation is good, consider it came from STUDIO JACK, an animation studio that was known to produce animations such as Oh! My Godess The Movie, Afro Samurai Resurrection and Captain Tsubasa J (another soccer-themed anime). The style known to appeal shonen and young kids aged 13 and above. So I should say the reputation of this studio is quite good and the animation is flawless.

Sound/Music - As for the music, the soundtrack is good, consider it was for a sport-themed animation such as this. Toshihiko Sahashi was known for making musics for anime such as Akazukin Cha Cha and Gundam Seed. The music is catchy, and in the same time suitable for action-packed anime and also emotional anime such as Whistle!. The OP and ED was sung by Minako Komukai a newcomer in animation singing.

Character - The main character, Kazamatsuri Shou, he had this immense spirit to play soccer that he had to moved his school twice. And he had a dream that he want to play for Japan World Cup team that already inspires lot of Japan younger generations since they come into the World Cup in 1998 in France (the time the manga was produced), when they almost hit the 2nd round. As for other character, such as Kazamatsuri Kou (his cousin who offers advice to him), Tatsuya Mizuno, Daichi Fuwa and Shigeki Sato (his best friend and fellow team mates at Sakura Josui High Soccer Team. The Girls team supports the boys team but lead a seperated way in different championships.

Enjoyment - This anime is suitable for all ages, and base don the story and plot, I would say it was enjoyable, yet it gives some good theme on friendship, patience, hardship and love.

Islamic Factor – this anime by far DO NOT have anything that is unIslamic. Islam teaches us to be good to friends, foes and families. This is what this anime is all about. As I mention before, some of the attributes of Muslim can be found in Shou like patience, hardship, respect and to learn from past lesson. Shou by far is an obedient boy who respects his parents and his friends. With that, this anime without doubt is suitable for Muslims alike and soccer fans around the world.

Conclusion– this anime by far is good, but not as good as Captain Tsubasa. Still, fans of shonen anine can feel the adrenalin when the soccer scene is showing. this anime can be seen in Animax 9if it's still available) and it's licensed by Taiwan's Mighty Media Co. Ltd.

this anime was fansubbed in English by Anime-Keep, by far the latest of their available file is around 2006.
